What is a Labrador Retriever?
Labradors were bred to retrieve. That working background helps explain their interest in carrying, fetching and swimming.
What are they like to live with?
Breed guidance describes friendly, outgoing and energetic tendencies. Many Labs enjoy joining family activity.
Friendly does not mean automatically calm. Young or under-exercised Labs can be very bouncy.
Walks, play and training
Walks, fetch, swimming where safe, training, scent games and food-search games can give a Lab useful things to do.
Coat and grooming
The short coat can look low-maintenance, but Labs shed. Regular brushing helps manage loose fur.
Grooming Planner confirms the actual coat before building a routine.
Plan coat care ↗Size and fit
Adult references are roughly 25–36 kg and 55–62 cm tall. A Labrador is not one fixed body size. Measure chest, back and neck before comparing a product chart.
Actual measurements decide clothing, harness and collar fit.
