Fit Check
Harness & Collar Fit
Choose what you’re fitting. We’ll help you prepare the measurements to compare with its chart.
How should the tape sit?
Keep the tape flat and comfortably close — not tight and not hanging loose.
Measure over the coat as it is normally worn. Do not add a fixed allowance; follow the product’s own measuring instructions.
Compare these with the exact product’s adjustment range and fitting instructions. There is no universal harness or collar S/M/L.
Check the fit on your dog
Check that the shoulders and front legs move freely, nothing rubs behind the elbows, breathing is unrestricted, and your dog cannot easily back out of the harness. Straps should stay flat and in position.
Follow the maker’s clearance instructions. It should not constrict the neck or be loose enough to slip over the head.
Specialist equipment?
Martingales, head collars, car restraints, escape-resistant or medical/mobility harnesses can need different measurements. Use that product’s exact instructions and professional fitting where appropriate.
