What is an INDog?
INDog means Indian Native Dog. It is used for India’s old native village-dog type.
Not every dog living on the street is an INDog. A mixed dog may have different ancestry, and an INDog can live inside a home.
Indian Pariah Dog is a familiar older name used for this identity.
What are they like to live with?
Specialist INDog references describe alert, smart and independent tendencies. These are not promises about every dog.
Build trust, be consistent and reward the behaviour you want. Early life and confidence matter.
Walks, play and training
Use your dog’s age, health, confidence and energy as a guide. Walks, sniffing time, play, short training sessions and proper rest can all have a place.
Coat and grooming
A short double coat is a starting point, not a rule for every dog. Choose the coat you can see and feel.
Grooming Planner confirms the actual coat before building a routine.
Plan coat care ↗Size and fit
Medium is context, not a clothing or harness size. Measure chest, back and neck.
Actual measurements decide clothing, harness and collar fit.
Measure my dog ↗Living in India
INDog is an Indian native identity. Native origin does not remove the need for ordinary care and attention to the individual dog.
Stay Floofy editorial perspective
What parents may underestimate
Native does not mean all the same. Two INDogs can look and behave differently.
May suit you if…
You enjoy getting to know the individual dog and training with patience.
Think carefully if…
You expect a breed label to predict exactly how a dog will behave.
Try it with your dog
